Packing a Punch

Status: Completed, August 2016

Designed and owner-built by the Director of X-Space Architects, this project showcases Orlando’s ability to maintain the design intent of a project from inception to project delivery.

The subdivided property of Kathleen Avenue takes on an odd shaped parallelogram that is both narrow and compact at 234m². To further add to the complexities of the site, the site slopes aggressively. The property, however, was situated adjacent an established parkland and had the potential to experience some nice views of the Perth skyline if the living areas of the home were further elevated. Orlando liked the site both for its challenging aspects and surrounding greenery. Whilst it was situated in inner city suburbia, he felt there was the potential to carefully escape that suburban feel through the right planning.
