A Mother’s Nest

Status: Completed, 2015

This home was designed for a young professional family that had outgrown their previous apartment and were in search of a new home that would be appropriately sized and accommodating of their growing family’s needs. The home was designed for their rectangular shaped narrow lot in Yokine that had a 10m frontage.

Whilst their expectations for a family home were modest, they came to us after failing to find a builder or designer that was the right fit for their home. The clients had an enthusiastic appreciation and appetite for good design and revealed that whilst many builders offered custom home opportunities, the builders they explored did not use registered architects to design their homes.
