REUSE HOUSE
Location: Wembley
Description: Major Renovation and Reuse Theme to existing residence
The Adaptive Reuse-Architectural-Theme was applied to completely transform what was once a tired and character-less looking 1950s post-war house.
This major renovation and additions project embraces the principles of reuse or recycling both existing materials from the original home, together with recycled materials from other projects to give a character-less home its character.
Only 83m2 of the original home was retained, which was in fact the original footprint of the home. The porch and rear lean-to extension structures were removed which enabled us to create new extensions both to the front and to the back of the site. Elements of the home that were dismantled and removed, such as the original roof and internal masonry walls were cleaned up and stored and later reused back into the home.
